For preserve-backing lots, we frequently recommend no-see-um mesh over standard fiberglass screen, since the tighter weave stops the very small biting insects common in these settings that standard mesh can let through. It’s a small upgrade in cost that makes a real difference in comfort.

The whole point of a preserve-backing lot is usually the view — which means the enclosure design should work to preserve sightlines, not obstruct them. Roof style and mesh color both play a role here. A hip or gable roof tends to keep sightlines more open than a flat mansard style, and charcoal mesh generally offers better outward visibility than gray or silver.
