Getting the most out of your free on-site estimate is easy — a little preparation makes the visit more productive and helps you get an accurate quote faster.

Think Through Your Priorities Beforehand

Before the visit, consider what matters most to you: Is cost the primary driver? Do you want maximum insect protection, or is visibility and view preservation more important? Are you leaning toward a specific mesh type or roof style, or open to recommendations? Having a rough sense of your priorities helps the conversation move efficiently.

Have Basic Property Information Ready

  • Rough dimensions of the area you’re considering (even an estimate helps)
  • Whether you’re in an HOA community, and if so, which one
  • Any existing structure you’re replacing or building around
  • Your property’s general age, if you know it (relevant for permitting history)

Walk the Space Together

During the visit, we’ll measure the actual area and walk the property with you. It’s helpful to have access to the full space, including gates unlocked and any furniture or landscaping visible that might affect the design.

Ask Questions

This is your chance to ask anything — about materials, timeline, permitting, past projects, or how we handle specific situations like preserve-backing lots or coastal exposure. A good contractor should welcome detailed questions, not rush past them.

What You’ll Walk Away With

By the end of the visit, you should have a clear sense of your options, a realistic timeline, and — usually within a day or two — a detailed, itemized written proposal.

No Pressure, No Obligation

Our estimates are genuinely free and come with no obligation to move forward. We’re happy to answer questions even if you’re still in the early research phase and not ready to commit to anything.
